Paediatric urological conditions

You are here

Urological problems in children (paediatric urology) is a subspecialised area of expertise. Many problems are congenital, meaning the child is born with a problem, which can affect the urinary system, male reproductive organs, or the genitalia. Paediatric urologists have particular training to manage these problems, which can be present at or before birth, as well as those that develop during childhood.  Problems that develop after puberty are more like those in older adults.

Dr David Winkle specialises in the treatment of paediatric urological conditions, both congential (from birth) and acquired (developed), such as

  • Vesicoureteric and Pelviureteric junction obstruction
  • Kidney abnormalities
  • Abnormal bladder function
  • Abnormalities of male genitalia
  • Vesicoureteric reflux
